CHARACTER
Name: Zelos Wilder
True Name: Zelos Wilder. :( he's not fancy enough for a secret name.
Canon: Tales of Symphonia (Right before the Flanoir talk, where he decides if he'll betray the group or not)
Age: 22

Powers/Abilities: Zelos is a magical swordsman, which means that he's a bit of an all-rounder. Not only does he have swordsmanship skills, but he also has offensive, elemental magic spells (Fire, Wind, Earth, Lightning) and some Healing Artes. He's capable of combining the former two, to power-up his sword attacks with elemental magic.
Zelos is also an Angel, which means he has wings that he can retract or pull out at will. Being an Angel means that he has a different constitution than a regular human, and has a higher durability. It's unclear whether or not he has a lot of the other benefits of being an angel, such as enhanced sight, strength, and hearing as he hides this aspect of himself throughout the story. (I'm going to assume that he does, if only somewhat vs Colette who has it more completely). This also means that he has access to some Angel skills, like Judgement (calling down light to spam the battlefield).

There's a few stereotypical JRP things:
Zelos has a few EX Gems equipped to him, which allow him to have certain skills or power-ups. This can range from more HP points, to unlocking some of his unique character traits (ex. "Chivalry", where he gets boosts depending on how many females are in the party or "Concentrate", where his spellcasting can't be easily interrupted).
He also has armor on him, his sword, battle accessories (again, giving some power-ups). These are all pretty standard to Symphonia characters in general. If you need a very specific list of them, it's fine: although none of them are world-breaking or give him immortality or anything like that.
And then there's personal items:
Job History:
Chosen One: Zelos is Tethe'alla's Chosen, so he used to have a busy schedule involving the Church a lot. He was to make public appearances, offer blessings, having dinner with the Pope... It was a lot of diplomacy and helping keep up the morale of the people, working with the King, too. This is the "religious" side of his obligations to his world. He stopped taking the role seriously, but it required a lot of people skills, I guess.
Politician: Zelos' family is second only to the King's, so he was often required to lend his ear to him on making certain decisions. He actually has quite a bit of sway, although it was often challenged by the Pope (who was supposed to support the Chosen...). Hosting and attending events, schmoozing with other nobles, and helping to devise political plans were all part of his job description too. Even though it was all stuffy and boring. Gross. But this would be the "political" side to his obligations.
Triple Agent: Zelos worked with Lloyd's group to try and unite the two worlds, but was also feeding information to the Renegades as well as another organization called Cruxis. He was playing all three of them, and had to delicately balance his actions between all 3 groups, as well as their expectations. He couldn't let Lloyd's group know about being in cahoots with Cruxis or the Renegades, couldn't let the Renegades know he was with Cruxis, couldn't let Cruxis know he was with the Renegades ... blah, blah, blah. It takes a lot to accomplish this!
Math Teacher: Zelos was the group's math teacher, and was more proficient in the subject than the rest of the cast aside from "the Professor". He graduated top of his class at the Imperial Research Academy, and gets a score of 300/400 on an exam in Sylvarant's world (next highest Tethe'allan member's score was around 230? and they probably bombed the entire history section since they're not from there), so he's quite academically gifted. He would teach math during their group's journey to the teens in the group.
Gigolo: An actual official title he can receive in the game, Zelos is constantly surrounded by lady friends who he flirts with to receive items and perks from. A lot of his skills are centred around manipulation, now that I think of it. Hmm. But having to balance this many hunnies is hard work too, you know?
Suppressions:
He represses a lot! His entire schtick is portraying himself as a goofy, dumb womanizer when it's the opposite of how he truly feels. His self-loathing and cynical worldview sometimes slip out, giving him something of a black-and-white personality at times, and he'll sometimes crack "jokes" about serious subjects, like casually joking that he'll betray Lloyd. Due to the former façade, most people think he's just being silly ... But is he? (He is not). So he refuses to open up a lot of the time, refuses to tell people deep personal details (without passing them off as jokes), thinks that he can't / shouldn't be loved (so he intentionally pushes people away by acting like an ass), etc.
He also harbors a deep loathing for parents that mistreat their children, and also greatly dislikes the snow to the point that he almost refuses to be around it (every winter in Meltokio, he'd escape to tropical Altamira). Again, these are things which he covers with jokes.
Greatest Fear: Someone dying because of the complications of his mere existence, of him being the Chosen, again. (His mother, father, half-sister's mother...). He also fears *anything* happening to his half-sister, Seles, because of him. Also anything happening to Sheena Fujibayashi, Colette Brunel, or Lloyd irving.
Greatest Desire: To find someone who actually sees a shred good in him, loves him, trusts him. For his sister to have freedom and a nice life. For someone to give him self worth.
Greatest Regret: Being born. (this is canon). Not being able to help his sister.
